What does each tool measure?

HubSpot AI Search Grader

HubSpot's page at hubspot.com/ai-search-grader calls the tool "AI Search Grader" and describes it as a free, one-time check with no account. When we opened the address hubspot.com/aeo-grader on 2026-11-06, it led to this page. The page title line still uses the words "AEO Brand Check". You enter a company name, a location, a product or service and an industry. HubSpot says it queries GPT-5.4 mini, Perplexity and Gemini and returns a snapshot in under two minutes. The page says you complete a form to unlock the full results.

The five dimensions of the HubSpot score, as listed on the grader page
DimensionMaximum points
Sentiment Results40
Presence Quality20
Brand Recognition20
Share of Voice10
Market Competition10

The grader measures how AI describes a brand. It does not scan your website. HubSpot's separate HubSpot AEO product tracks prompts over time. It lists brand visibility and sentiment analysis, competitor share of voice and citation analysis, and recommended next steps.

SeenLens

SeenLens scans one page URL with 38 deterministic checks in five dimensions: AI crawler access (30%), content structure (25%), structured data (15%), agent readiness (15%) and technical delivery (15%). It returns a score from 0 to 100, five dimension scores and the top three issues. The scan is free and needs no account. The score measures readiness. It does not query any AI engine and does not count mentions. See how the scan works.

SeenLens starts from the opposite end. It does not ask what AI says about you. It checks the technical causes that decide whether AI systems can fetch and read the page: robots.txt rules for AI crawlers, firewall responses, JavaScript only content, headings, structured data and agent files.

How much does each tool cost?

HubSpot AI Search Grader. Free. The grader page says there is no cost to run an analysis (checked 2026-11-06).

When is the HubSpot AI Search Grader the better choice?

  • You want to know how AI engines describe your brand today, with a sentiment score, before you decide on any work.
  • You want a quick look at competitors. The grader accepts any brand name.
  • You are a marketing or brand manager and your question is about reputation and presence in AI answers, not about website files.
  • You plan to use ongoing monitoring later. HubSpot AEO continues from the grader, and Marketing Hub Pro and Enterprise customers can get a version included.

When is SeenLens the better choice?

  • AI answers about your topic do not cite your page and you want the technical cause. A brand score cannot show that a firewall blocks GPTBot or that your text loads only through JavaScript.
  • You are a developer, an SEO or a site owner who needs a list of fixes for one URL.
  • You want evidence you can send to a developer: the robots.txt line, the status codes and the missing tag, in an online report and a PDF.
  • You do not want to enter brand details or fill in a form. SeenLens needs only a URL.

SeenLens does not tell you what AI says about your brand. If that is your question, use a tool that queries AI engines.

Can I use both?

Yes. They answer two different questions about the same goal. A practical order:

  1. Run the HubSpot grader to see how AI engines describe your brand.
  2. Run the SeenLens scan on the page you want AI to cite. Fix crawler access and content problems.
  3. After the fixes are live, run the HubSpot grader again to see whether the brand snapshot changed. Many other things also change AI answers, so treat any difference as a hint and not as proof of cause.
